Just two years ago, a large undeveloped section of woods lay undisturbed in the heart of Buckhead. Once planned as a massive development called CityPlace, the area festered as a testament to the potential-crushing powers of the Great Recession.
However, by the end of 2014, apartment giant AMLI got moving with construction on a gargantuan residential village featuring at least 650 units in three buildings. Less than a year ago, there still wasn't much more than mud and curbs. But now, despite a short delay after a construction crane collapse last year, the area is home to a gorgeous new park, and work is wrapping up on the central high-rise tower.
With more mid-rise residential coming up fast, the project is quickly turning into a new neighborhood enclave just east of Lenox Square.
