Airy Old Fourth Ward Loft Makes Industrial Inviting

Doesn't look much like a 1930s machine shop in here

On Edgewood Avenue in the Old Fourth Ward, about halfway between Church Bar and the Beltline, sits a former machine shop turned nondescript loft complex that's about as authentically industrial as this side of town gets.

Here, in The Edgewood Lofts, Unit No. 4 is for sale now at $315,900, and it's touted by the listing agent as "arguably one of the BEST loft offerings in O4W!" And it might be tough to argue with that.

With 1,285 square feet, it's a cavernous space with concrete floors that somehow avoids feeling arctic, incorporating quirky-cool I-beams painted green, rustic wood, and exposed brick that dates back to its 1930s origins.

It has two bedrooms but just one bathroom; that could be an afterthought, however, for loft-seekers entranced by the location, exclusivity (only seven total units here), and touches like the downtown sunsets visible from the front deck.
