MetLife, JLL Announce Plans to Redevelop Midtown Site

Project could fill 8.5-acre parcel located near 17th Street bridge

A site in Midtown at 17th and Spring streets could be getting redeveloped soon according to a statement from MetLife and real estate services firm Jones Lang LaSalle Inc.

According to a story in the AJC, JLL announced Monday that it was selected as master development manager for the 8.5-acre parcel, billed as Midtown Heights. Located adjacent to the 17th Street bridge, the area was once slated for a high-rise, mixed-use development called Metropolitan Center.

The release stated MetLife and JLL have begun conceptual design work and planning, with an anticipated 10-year development cycle.

The project would be located across the Connector from Atlantic Station, just a few blocks away from Arts Center MARTA Station.
