Sneak Peek of Buckhead's AC Hotel as it Hurries Toward Opening

How things are coming together at the latest addition to Buckhead's lodging scene

Atlanta visitors will soon have a new "European minimalism inspired" place to lay their heads in Buckhead.

Construction is still moving along at a frenzied pace, but things are quickly coming together at the AC Hotel, which has risen at the corner of Peachtree and Wieuca roads, in front of Phipps Plaza. It's been under construction for more than a year.

Streamlining is the operative word for the hotel chain, with visitors able to check in via app, receive their key via phone, and avoid dealing with any humans. For those seeking restaurant advice from locals, the hotel bartenders will do double duty as ambassadors for the city.

The sleek minimalism carries over into the rooms, which feature waterfall showerheads, hard floors, and windows that automatically tint based on the intensity of the sun. All with straight lines and little frou-frou.

Spread out across six floors, the hotel features 163 standard rooms and three suites.

While originally anticipated to open this spring, construction delays got the better of the project, and right now there are still many things to be done. But the team here is hellbent on getting things open by the end of the month.
