This trophy penthouse at The Residences at W Atlanta-Downtown has made local real estate history, according to the agent who brokered both sides of the deal.
Coldwell Banker’s Marc Castillo says this soaring two-bedroom pad is the most expensive condominium ever sold in downtown or Midtown (Buckhead’s a different story), which he can confirm now that the March deal is reflected in tax records.
The final sale price: $2.55 million.
With just shy of 3,000 square feet, "it had a state-of-the-art entertainment and smart-house automation, being able to operate everything remotely, and of course the heliport on top," said Castillo.
Elsewhere the sleek, window-heavy space has two and ½ bathrooms, a den and office, and Gaggenau kitchen.
According to property records, the proud new owner is an Atlanta entrepreneur and font of motivation.
Interestingly, this building was the site of Atlanta’s most expensive one-bedroom condo sale last year, when an 1,800-square-footer fetched $729,000.
That "speaks to how desirable and unique the building is," Castillo said.
