Buckhead condo tower's name will pay homage to influential family

“The Charles” recognizes the Loudermilk family, which has been shaping the Buckhead Triangle for decades; only 57 units offered

Buckhead’s latest high-end condo tower has been christened "The Charles."

According to BuckheadView, the building — to be located on the eastern edge of the Buckhead Triangle, across from Buckhead Theatre — pays homage to the three generations of Loudermilks who have helped shape the neighborhood over the last few decades.

While the name, and the office originally floated for the site in 2014, may be classical, this new design is decidedly not that.

Glassy, flashy renderings were revealed back in June, showcasing a Lord Aeck Sargent-designed modern high-rise. The 18-story condo tower will feature just 57 units, each averaging almost 3,000 square feet.

Prices are expected to start at more than $1.5 million.

But there's a catch: Before construction starts, at least 19 of the units will reportedly have to sell. If all goes according to plan, the Loudermilks hope to start construction early next year.
