Atlanta’s priciest penthouse is pretty much the urban American dream

New, 5 comments

The South’s ultimate blank slate starts on the 40th floor — and costs more than $7 million

Marketers of the most expensive penthouse space in Atlanta — the second largest penthouse in the entire city, in fact — make no bones about it: They’re gunning for true ballers of the ATL who value privacy and almost unconscionable amounts of sky-high space.

This bilevel unit spans nearly 10,000 square feet across the 40th and 41st floors of the Residences at Mandarin Oriental in Buckhead. Beyond privacy (see: private motor courtyard, lobby, and elevators for residents), the top-notch amenities, and what seems like Presidential-grade security (see: fingerprint entry), the $7.3-million listing price buys nothing but a blank slate.

That’s right — it’s a shell right now.

The right moneybags condo-hunters are encouraged to bring in their own architects and customize every bit of the space. According to the Robb Report, a suggested layout would include a music room, library, catering kitchen, fitness room, four bedrooms, and one sweet spiral staircase connecting the two stories.

The suggested style would avoid the hoity-toity stuffiness of other mind-boggling penthouses across Atlanta, resulting in what could be the city’s ultimate urban pad.

The following photos, provided with the listing, are representative of what the space could be — after who knows how much in build-out costs:
