Inside a $3.25M Buckhead condo that Hemingway would love

Anyone up for a hunt?

No shortage of warm woods here at this Buckhead condo.

If Ernest Hemingway was a well-heeled Buckhead sky-rise type, this customized condo on the 42nd floor of the fabulous Sovereign building would probably pique Papa’s interest.

How so?

Have a gander at the tiger skin stapled to a wall, the exotic art pieces, robust wood furnishings that scream Old Key West, a highbrow wet bar, and that knotty-pine media room that wouldn’t be out of place in Ketchum, Idaho.

Which isn’t to say this property isn’t beautiful, by and large. It’s just very A.O.G. — Accomplished Older Gentleman.

Zillow pegs the square footage at 2,181, which makes calling it “Sovereign’s premier floorplan” in the listing description a stretch, when much larger and fancier units abound here.

It’s easy to picture a sophisticated angler kicking back in the great room with bottle of bordeaux, after a long hot day of hauling Chattahoochee trout. And the views toward Midtown — which listing photos don’t bother to emphasize — are spellbinding.

The full laundry room that doubles as a command center is a plus. But, at this price point, the kitchen is downright diminutive. As is the room count: two bedrooms, two and 12 bathrooms.

Like the views, the asking price could be a tall order. The unit listed at $3.25 million (American dollars) in September and remains there.

It last sold in 2012 for $1.7 million.
