‘Incredibly charming’ Capitol View bungalow seeks $280K following renovation

New, 40 comments

Neighboring future Beltline, this home in “sought out” Capitol View could be an affordable entry to ITP living.

Built way back in 1899, this recently renovated Capitol View bungalow definitely contains a more modern interior these days.

In fact, it features many of the trendy upgrades currently found in today’s renovations.

From the interesting light fixture in the living room and the requisite subway tile in the kitchen to the vessel sink in the second bathroom and the barn door (again?) on the master bathroom, all the “it” design touches are there.

The hardwoods running throughout are gorgeous, while the gray and white color palette provides a clean, blank canvas for future buyers to enhance as they see fit.

With three bedrooms and two bathrooms in 1,435 square feet, it’s not an overly spacious house, but it certainly looks like it could be comfortable without being cramped.

The new back deck is rather plain, but it does provide plenty of outdoor entertaining space in what appears to be a private backyard—although one in need of some landscaping.

The listing states the house is within walking distance of the Westside Trail of the Beltline, which is technically true, but a closer look shows it very near the future Southside Trail.

However, for now, outdoor recreation can still be found at the nearby Perkerson and Emma Millican parks.

The current asking price of $279,900 is definitely on the high end of the scale for this neighborhood, but no doubt the recent renovations inflated this price, given it last sold in July for $130,000.

It may not be the only renovation, though, since the home previously sold in 2013 for $61,000. It appears some work was done to the property between then and July to account for the initial doubling in home value.

Regardless, this house could suit buyers looking for an ITP arrangement with a manageable mortgage payment.
