The Atlanta area is set to welcome its fourth AC Hotel—a Marriott branded property—following Dunwoody City Council’s approval of a development near Perimeter Mall.
Reporter Newspapers relays that the seven-story hotel will bring more than 150 rooms to a site currently occupied by a SunTrust branch and restaurant. Plans call for the hotel, and a five-story parking deck, to wrap the existing building.
If the project moves forward as planned, the hotel would join existing Buckhead and downtown locations, as well as an under-construction Midtown location.
Designed by local firm HC Architecture, the hotel had been proposed earlier this year, but was delayed due to requested modifications to the design. As approved, the facility will include a restaurant and bar as well, with nearly 5,000 square feet of rooftop dining space.
The project joins at least three other hotels proposed in the district surrounding Perimeter Mall, including a Residence Inn.
Construction on the building, at the corner of Perimeter Center West and Perimeter Center Place, will begin early next year.
