Even football haters have to admit this is a special time for Atlanta.
For a town derided as “Loserville” and “The Worst Sports City in the World” with its famously fair-weather fan base, the outpouring of support for the Super Bowl-bound Falcons has been impressive — if not chill-inducing.
A legendary Atlantic Station send-off Sunday drew an estimated 15,000 strong, and countless other pep rallies are planned at schools and communities across the region this week.

^ The Krog Street Tunnel, of all places, exhibits team pride, as seen in the rally-cry clip “A City Waits” narrated by Ludacris.
...
^ Atlanta-based Cortland Partners raised a “Rise Up” banner in a prominent place this week. The company is closing its offices on Monday “in honor of the Sunday night celebrations,” officials said in a release today, adding: “[I]t’s impossible for the Atlanta home office team to ignore the energy building around Atlanta in anticipation of this Sunday’s match-up.” (Can’t the entirety of metro Atlanta declare a holiday?)
...
^ You’ll have to employ some imagination, because we neglected to take a useable photo, but the top of this Terminus tower in Buckhead is currently glowing red for the Falcons at night.
...
^ In the shadow of the Georgia State Capitol, Liberty Plaza (i.e., protest central) dons the Falcons logo this week.
...
^ A certain downtown atrium alive like never before.
...
Madness Sunday at the Atlantic Station sendoff, which the team’s busses snaked through:
...
^ And lest we forget this message made by 50+ Dodge Challengers.

UPDATE: This from the Peachtree Center folks downtown:
