An applaudable juxtaposition of vintage and cutting-edge at The Brookwood

A stylishly decorated condo in South Buckhead Atlanta.
Vintage touches abound.

Condos at The Brookwood don’t seem to become available all that often, which is probably a good sign for a building with more than 200 units.

This classic, mostly brick tower was an LEED frontrunner in Atlanta, and it sits atop a variety of restaurants (Watershed, Saltyard, and Egg Harbor Cafe). Positioned between Buckhead and Midtown, near the entrance of historic Brookwood Hills, the building holds a decent 75 WalkScore and boasts a fairly large pool—a junior Olympic saline pool, in fact—that’s not pictured in this listing.

What is pictured, however, is a fashionable two-bedroom unit that looks poised for the pages of a glossy magazine. It’s the type of design where flatscreen TVs would seem sacrilegious.

Designer upgrades abound, we’re told, and some rooms brandish wallpaper that warms spaces and adds interesting contrast without screaming that it’s cool wallpaper by Hermes and Schumacher, which it is. Find Viking appliances and Rejuvenation hardware in the custom kitchen. Ten-foot ceilings and rich hardwoods are found throughout.

These 1,834 square feet include a den (or third bedroom option) and three bathrooms. The ask is $719,000, and anyone who can swallow that must also digest $618 monthly HOA fees.

The listing talks of “sweeping downtown views” but provides nary an image. There’s also a balcony, but we’ll have to imagine what it looks like—and how it’s decorated.
