A new apartment high-rise near Piedmont Park should begin construction this summer. Deja vu, anybody?
According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, work on the Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart-designed building got a kickstart thanks to tax abatements from Fulton County.
Proposed nearly a year ago, the 26-story tower—somewhere along the way the building lost a floor—is supposed to feature more than 300 units.
While Lennar Multifamily Communities plans to break soon, few details are available as to the building’s appearance, other than some sketchy renderings released last year.
The property will join a slew of others that have recently risen along the eastern edge of Midtown, facing Piedmont Park.
Adding to Alta on the Park, Azure on the Park, and YOO on the Park (which finally opened, after months of delays), 195 13th will bring the total of new units in the area to more 1,000.
