Did shiplap restraint do the trick?

Maybe it was the thoughtful staging that softens the place. Or the dearth of large sub-$600,000 houses on Atlanta’s eastside. Or the non-white, non-gray walls. Or maybe good ol’ fashioned prime location did the trick.

Whatever the case, records indicate this new four-bedroom at the cusp of East Atlanta Village went under contract Thursday—the day it listed for $569,900.

Behind the cheerful exterior paint is a 2,375-square-foot space that checks a lot of boxes for intown buyers, including the quartz and granite countertops and outdoor lounging options (two front porches and a covered back deck). The dash of shiplap and custom woodwork detailing (see: the stairwell) probably aren't hindrances.

Another plus: The home’s location a block from Holy Taco and at least two MARTA bus lines contributes to the swell 83 WalkScore.

“You can't get closer than this to EAV,” the listing errantly declares.

But we all get the point.
