Any Atlantan who’s felt the Beltline’s bustling Eastside Trial is missing the convivial facet that is fresh-brewed beer shouldn’t have to wait much longer.

At the Poncey-Highland warehouse space next to Two Urban Licks, a deal is expected to close this quarter that will set in motion the highly anticipated build-out of New Realm Brewing Company, led by lauded beer maker Mitch Steele.

Now, new images in Invest Atlanta paperwork give a better idea what the $15-million project could look like. Per the brewery, plans call for pours to begin in the fall. Which sounds pretty optimistic, but godspeed.

Overlooking the Eastside Trail and topped with a sprawling patio, the 17,300-square-foot brewery will be accompanied by a restaurant, bar, and event space.

Steel announced last year he was leaving iconic Stone Brewing in California for a new career phase in Atlanta, tapping into the Southeast’s growing craft-beer culture.

Before construction begins, New Realm is seeking approval from Invest Atlanta—the city’s economic development arm—for $10 million in industrial development revenue bonds, according to Bisnow. That cash would help pay for brewery equipment and construction costs.

Brewery leaders say the project will create 60 new jobs (average annual wage: $26,500) with a total economic impact of $21 million, Bisnow reports.

Invest Atlanta is scheduled to vote on the bond resolution today.
