At Buckhead’s Mandarin Oriental, freshly finished condo is deluxe at $2M

The 42-story Mandarin Oriental tower (formerly The Mansion on Peachtree) has stood over Buckhead for nearly a decade, which makes it hard to believe that claiming never-lived-in condos here is still possible.

But those opportunities are apparently, finally dwindling.

Within the last month, Harrison Design Associates has wrapped the build-out of this high-floor unit, which we’re told is among the last available new condos above the Mandarin hotel.

The results at Unit 48A are an upscale blend of elegance and hipness that doesn’t seem ostentatious, despite the address and listing price a buck shy of $2 million.

With 12-foot ceilings, this skypad counts two bedrooms (the den includes a Murphy bed that morphs it into a third bedroom-ish), three bathrooms, and a house-sized 2,600 square feet. From room to room it’s clear they didn’t skimp on light fixtures or intricate ceilings.

Other perks include the fine Provenza oak floors throughout, Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances in the kitchen (with its not-average dishwashing views), and a beautiful custom fireplace of Francois & Co. Scagliola stone.

Another nice touch is the included Wolf gas grill on the terrace, which doesn’t boast the building’s best city views but should appeal to arborists.

Beyond the actual price, however, this all comes at a price, as monthly HOA dues are nearly $2,000.
