Quintessential Inman Park Victorian aches for TLC at $750K

What’ll it cost to get this Colquitt Avenue classic up to snuff?

A Victorian for sale in Inman Park Atlanta right now.
Front-porch barbecue, anyone?
RE/MAX

So this is the “before,” but don’t expect a total train wreck.

This circa-1930, five-bedroom Victorian in Inman Park is 4,000 square feet of potential within spitting distance of Little Five Points. It listed this week for a highly specific $749,850 and appears beyond livable as is.

But before every Atlanta homebuyer’s soul goes leaping with thoughts $184/square foot pricing in IP, there are some things to consider. Like old-fashioned radiator heaters everywhere.

What could be a showplace is pretty much a showcase of questionable updates (tin backsplash) and additions (confounding Juliette balconies, glass-block walls). These are hardly fatal flaws right now, but they present no small job toward remedies.

One bathroom (of four) has a bidet and what looks like stainless-steel wallpaper. In another, a green-painted clawfoot tub. In another, an endless hard-surface countertop.

Still, note the inimitable Victorian details such diamond windows and four vintage fireplaces. The large master, per the listing, even has partial city views.

What’s described as the “hidden gem” is a one-bedroom carriage house around back (interior not pictured) zoned for rental purposes.

But heed this warning: “Carriage house needs some tender loving care.”

All things considered, this is a unique opportunity with prized location on its side Let’s go ahead and issue a call for the “after” pics when they’re ready.
