On Saturday, the Georgia Trust hosted its first ever Southwest Atlanta Expedition, offering hundreds of participants the opportunity to explore neighborhoods from Atlanta University Center to Capitol View.
The tour included both private homes and a few famous residences such as the Herndon Home in Vine City and the Wren’s Nest in West End. Also on the list were old industrial-spaces-turned-artists-studios and offices, and even the new Atlanta City Studio in Cascade Heights.
Many of the sites, clustered along the future Beltline Westside Trail corridor, highlighted the rich history and current preservation work in neighborhoods like Adair Park and Westview.
While the tour offered inside looks at private spaces, it also provided an opportunity to appreciate all the assets of the southwestern side of the city. Here are some photos from Saturday:
