Recent upgrades put a modern spin on this charming home near the Edgewood retail district

Called “lovingly maintained and updated” in the listing, this 1930 bungalow in Edgewood certainly showcases a fresh appearance with its manicured front lawn and light blue and gray exterior with white trim.

The swing on the covered front porch provides an ideal spot to catch up with neighbors or just enjoy an afternoon breeze.

Inside the house, the kitchen benefitted the most from the recent update, with a subway tile backsplash, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and new wood plank tile floors.

The light fixture in the dining room also falls into the “updated” category, while the original hardwood floors in the remainder of the house are reminiscent of the home’s younger days.

And, yes, the 1,220-square-foot house does contain two fireplaces, referred to as “multiple original fireplaces” in the listing, one in the living room and a second one in what could be called a den, office, or family room.

At the rear of the house, a screened-in porch extends the living space of the home. The patio and fenced-in backyard provide an additional location for outdoor entertaining.

Parking is limited to the driveway, but may be more than sufficient for a homeowner more interested in walking to area shopping than driving.

With an asking price of $385,000, this house is priced at the high end of similar homes in the area. In fact, it’s $130,000 more than what the house sold for in 2015, but perhaps the aforementioned updates are worth it.
