The Perimeter is booming with development proposals to bring more density around the area’s two MARTA stations—Sandy Springs and Dunwoody.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that developer Branch Properties was aiming to resurrect a nearly decade-old proposal for a new hotel tower surrounded by retail space on a site at Ashford-Dunwoody Road and Perimeter Center East.
Now, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reports the developer has submitted plans to the city to move the Phillips Partnership-designed project forward.
Plans for the development, located half a mile from the Dunwoody MARTA Station, include a 10-story, 200-room hotel and two multistory retail buildings. The project would sit atop a three-story parking deck that would accommodate more than 300 cars.
Across the street from Perimeter Mall, the site is currently occupied by a one-story bank building and a sea of asphalt. With demand in the area pushing projects skyward, expect surface parking lots to be a dying breed.
