Swingin’ Castleberry Hill loft with rooftop oasis desires $479K

Find airy living quarters but just a single bedroom in this former meatpacking plant in shadow of Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Atlanta lofts don’t get much more authentic than those at Swift & Company, a 1927 former meatpacking plant with all the right kind of scars.

Listed last week, this airy, 1,841-square-foot unit (one of 33 in the building) takes urban-chic to the max, with exposed brick, inimitable industrial ceilings, and room heights that appear to reach at least 14 feet.

Enhancing the vintage-urban feel, sort of, is the black-and-white photography used for various rooms in the listing—an unusual tactic, to say the least.

The landscaped courtyard entry, pro kitchen, and living-room chair swing are sweet, but the crowning achievement is the turfed, rooftop social area large enough for a Putt-Putt course.

Per the listing, the roof has “spectacular” views of downtown and almost-ready Mercedes-Benz Stadium, while the Peters Street building itself counts a strong 79 WalkScore.

The catch is the loft’s one-bedroom status. For better or worse, it’s essentially one vast room. With two bathrooms.

The ask is $479,000, and HOA fees clock in at a stinging $448 per month. But at least that includes two deeded parking slots.
