Atlantans from across the metro (and far beyond) celebrated the 241st birthday of the country on Tuesday by running down Peachtree, hosting cookouts, and setting off an unholy amount of fireworks.
With Lenox Square out of the pyrotechnics game this year, firework enthusiasts wanting to stay within city limits were left with just one option for a full-on professional show.
Lenox Square provided “a generous donation” to the Centennial Olympic Park July 4th celebration—the region’s largest—in what officials have described as a partnership. Meanwhile, at Turner Field, the Braves’ traditional July 4th fireworks show is no more, for obvious reasons.
While the highlight of the evening was the Centennial Olympic Park spectacular, dozens of other smaller shows lit up the skies surrounding downtown, including an Atlanta United post-victory show at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
