Downhill from Grant Park’s most famed and historic greenspace, this spacious, brawny, Craftsman-style new-build is daring to go where few homes in the neighborhood previously have: beyond $800,000.

Tempting intown families and maybe empty-nesters with 3,150 square feet of living space, the four-bedroom offering is the second finished house at a collection of seven called Mercer Hill, all poised over Mercer Street near the Ormewood Park border.

Listed last week for $819,900, it’s marketed as having designer touches from the top to (unfinished) basement, which is next to the two-car, drive-under garage.

The interiors—bolstered by pro-grade staging—exude top-shelf craftsmanship from the master shower’s floor to the stacked-stone porch, surely appealing to buyers who get the warm and fuzzies in the presence of coffered ceilings and built-in shelving.

It’s not the priciest of the bunch, as its neighbor was recently increased up to $839,000, after having listed for $20,000 cheaper in November.

One of these years, they’ll all be about two blocks from the Beltline.
