Perhaps good things will come to development wonks who wait.
At the cusp of Midtown and Buckhead, a new apartment building could soon begin construction on the site of a single-story former medical office.
Bisnow reports that Perennial Properties is finally ready to move forward with the construction of a 244,000-square-foot mixed-use apartment block on land they acquired in 2015. A medical tenant recently relocated from an existing building, setting the stage for destruction.
Plans call for 265 apartments in two eight-story towers, atop a three-story parking, office, and retail podium. One tower will face Peachtree, while across an amenity deck, the other will provide views of the Midtown skyline.
Designed by Dwell Design Studio, the project would add to the transformation underway between Piedmont Hospital and the Peachtree Street Gateway Bridge into Midtown.
Perennial Properties hopes to begin construction on the building this year, officials told the website.
