Trendy minimalism abounds at property that touts interstate access but lacks covered parking

Fans of poured concrete floors and overall design that reads like the antithesis of Victorian gingerbread might applaud this new-build offering in East Atlanta.

Listed this week at $514,900, the four-bedroom property could be viewed as a cheaper alternative to similarly sized homes that’ve recently fetched closer to $600,000 in the neighborhood.

Alternately, for what’s still a half-million bucks, certain aspects could leave discerning buyers wanting.

From the street, it certainly isn’t fussy, and inside, the ubiquitous concrete floors are described as “gorgeous.” Tiling and lighting choices carry the toned-down, sleek vibe throughout. And the master bedroom’s vaulted ceiling (with a spacious, adjoining bathroom) is a highlight.

Overall, the 2,300 square feet would probably qualify as ample for most intown families.

Few will complain the kitchen island—while stylish with its waterfall edge—is egregiously large.

Other shortcomings could include the driveway parking and virtually nonexistent landscaping. The seconds-away Interstate 20 access is primo, but the location is several blocks from EAV hotspots, which is reflected in the so-so “Somewhat Walkable” 56 WalkScore.

While it has potential, the current backyard hangout space can only be described as lackluster.

Back in 2016, the lot alone sold for $165,000. Whether buyers will reach beyond the half-mil mark for the land’s new occupant remains to be seen.
