What $1,500 rents around Atlanta right now

New, 19 comments

There’s no shortage of locations to choose from—for those who don’t mind smallish spaces

This installment of Curbed Comparisons examines what $1,500—give or take $100—a month can rent in Atlanta’s various intown communities.

Not surprisingly, most of these rentals are apartments and condos, although townhomes and even single-family houses are available out there. With the exception of the Ormewood Park home featured below, though, all are small by Atlanta standards, counting less than 900 square feet and just one bedroom and bathroom. On the flip side, they’re located near some of the city’s top attractions, restaurants, and green spaces.

Overlooking Centennial Olympic Park, this “luxury” studio apartment boasts many “premium” features, like hardwood floors, a granite tile bath, and stainless steel appliances, all packed into 730 square feet. Building amenities include secured underground parking, rooftop pool and terrace, and gym access. An 18-month lease is available for $1,490 per month.

Located at The Mark at West Midtown, this 2015 one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment claims to “brim with over-the-top features.” Think 10-foot ceilings, a Roman soaking tub, and a “generous” stainless steel Whirlpool appliance package. The pet-friendly unit measures 810 square feet, and it’s located near Westside Provisions District and Atlantic Station. The monthly rent is $1,505.

At Metropolis, this 666-square-foot studio condo with one bathroom comes with hardwood floors, granite countertops, and a walk-in closet. Building amenities include a covered, assigned parking space, 24-hour concierge, a swimming pool, and fitness room. Boasting a WalkScore of 94, the building is within walking distance of Piedmont Park, MARTA, and a strong variety of dining and nightlife. The monthly rent is $1,550.

Those looking for a bit more space will find it in this 1950s Ormewood Park bungalow, easily within walking distance of Glenwood Park and EAV’s commercial hubs. Featuring three bedrooms and one bathroom in 1,300 square feet, the home also has a walk-in attic, security system, and fresh paint. Outside, there’s a deck in the fenced backyard along with a storage shed that could possibly double as a detached garage. A one-year lease is available for $1,599 per month.

Claiming to be “city living at its best,” this one-bedroom, one-bath Old Fourth Ward apartment offers an open floorplan with a double-sided fireplace in 893 square feet. The master bedroom also comes with two California Closets, and a bonus room can serve as a second bedroom, office, or den. The gated community is within walking distance of Midtown MARTA, Ponce City Market, and Piedmont Park. The monthly rent is $1,550.
