Add another name to the Howell Mill Road area’s development roster: The Felix West Midtown.

Led by Miller Lowry Developments, The Felix promises 15 townhomes, each spanning between 2,500 and 3,000 square feet, as announced in recent days.

“Showcasing a modern architectural design in a flatiron style, floorplans will offer customization options to suit the needs of each homeowner,” according to a press release.

The townhomes, as designed, would come in three- or four-story options, each decked out with its own two-car garage (Howell Mill Road groans), a rooftop terrace, and “residential-sized” elevators.

Developer services firm Engel & Völkers Atlanta is managing the sales and marketing for the community, which will offer units priced from the low $800,000s.

Day by day, solving the chaotic traffic problems on West Midtown’s Howell Mill Road (what some would call the Upper Westside) seems like a more daunting task.

While the car-choked corridor experiences gangbusters residential and commercial development, observers say little is being done thus far to ready roadways in the area for resulting traffic.

The Felix project, sited off Huff Road—which shoots west from Howell Mill Road—would offer easy access to the growing neighborhood’s retail and restaurant options, such as Monday Night Brewing, as well as walkability to a future Beltline trail extension.

The development is slated for an October 2019 delivery, officials said.

It would rise directly southwest of the Hemphill Water Treatment plant and southeast of a proposed concrete plant that has neighbors fired up over potential environmental and traffic impacts.
