After more than 18 months of work, one of Atlanta’s former “most annoyingly vacant” sites has been transformed into one of the city’s most interesting recent projects, in terms of residential architecture.
At the corner of Peachtree and 3rd streets, lording over the Fox Theatre, lilli Midtown has taken shape, with remaining work on the upper floors slated to be finished soon.
The apartment tower was first announced back in 2015 by Jarel Portman and Bruce Fernald of JPXWorks.
The first residents moved into the lowest floors of the tower last month, with more slated to move into the middle of the building this weekend.
The entire 150-unit building will be complete in June, with the 25th-floor, rooftop pool deck ready for summer frolicking, developers say.
One interesting aspect is that lilli added no new parking to Midtown’s landscape, but instead built a bridge to an existing, underutilized deck next door. Units range from roughly 800 to 2,118 square feet, starting from just shy of $2,000 per month.
This week, we checked out the building as crews finish the penthouse units—some of which will command rents north of $8,000 a month—and took in the views and high-end finishes that make the building a unique addition to the Midtown market:
