Just two blocks west of Oakland Cemetery, in one of Atlanta’s tiniest neighborhoods—Oakland—construction is heading down the home stretch on the latest rental offering east of downtown.

Construction began in mid-2016 on what was then known as “Grant Park Apartments,” located along MLK Jr. Drive, between Hill and Fort streets.

Once complete, the Dwell Design Studio-designed building will include 325 units, a mix of studios and one- and two-bedroom options. Platform will also have an array of outdoor spaces to entice future residents, developers say.

Beyond a standard pool and cookout area, the building will have “three luxurious amenity courtyards ... consisting of a main pool courtyard, a secondary lap pool courtyard, and a third serenity garden with a bocce court,” per marketing materials.

Additionally, the property will include a “summer kitchen,” gaming room, club room, and fitness facilities.

Work has come a long way since last fall, and according to developer Fairfield Residential, the project will open later this year.
