Three-bedroom Midtown space is large—but hardly refined

The listing language for this unique Midtown property poses what must be an accidental question:

“Have you looked up from your picnic at Piedmont Park and thought, ‘Wow, I’d like to live here?’”

(To self: “Really, self, you want to live up there?”)

If self answered affirmative, now’s the time to act, provided that self has a million-dollar budget.

Here on Piedmont Avenue, overlooking Atlanta’s most wondrous green space, these two “penthouse” units spliced as one are being offered for the first time ever at $1 million, per the listing.

The fusion has created more than 70 feet of primo, private, sunny balcony space across the building’s top floor. All that outdoor room and a 91 WalkScore to boot. Rare indeed.

Other pertinent numbers: three bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, and 2,727 square feet—a sizable footprint that doesn’t exactly flow, despite being wide open in primary sections.

The Lofts @ The Park II building took shape back in 2001, when exposed ductwork and @ signs in titles were cutting-edge. The Sub-Zero and Bosch appliances appear to be more recent additions, but million-dollar buyers would probably itch to cleave out most of dated tiling and cabinetry, pronto.

The HOA commitments aren’t specified, but given the size—and four included parking spaces—don’t expect a small sum.

Unless budgets allow for a revitalization adventure, would it be best to check your self at this price?
