At $835K, Pine Hills contemporary touted as unique reno opportunity

Originally built in 1940, this “amazing structure” is primed for a transformation into a more modern incarnation

Located in Pine Hills, this 1940 contemporary contains several features every potential homeowner seeks in a home: an exposition kitchen, generous room sizes, and a functional design.

Even so, the three-bedroom, two-bath house could use some updates. The kitchen is a hodgepodge of finishes, the master bathroom tile and countertop don’t mix well, and the flooring throughout could be more coherent.

The deck would be an ideal outdoor entertaining space except the only access is via the master bedroom. The detached garage is a nice addition, though.

Perhaps that is why the listing states this is “a truly unique opportunity to create a custom California modern using this amazing structure.”

With 3,076 square feet, there’s certainly plenty to work with if the future buyer decides to keep the original structure.

And why not? The home is move-in ready, so future buyers “can get a feel for the house before deciding how to customize.”

Given how many other Roxboro homes are currently for sale or recently sold, it’s obvious this street is in the throes of change, both with renovations and rebuilds.

But with an asking price of $835,000, how much more would potential buyers want to invest in a renovation?
