Here’s what $2M buys around Chastain Park right now

New, 15 comments

Potential buyers could enjoy a lot of space with these Buckhead properties. A whole lot

Today’s installment of Curbed Comparisons examines what $2,000,000—give or take $100,000—buys in Chastain Park these days.

All four of these homes overflow with space as well as close proximity to the park and its many amenities. However, with the exception of one new listing, firm offers seem to be in short supply.

First up on East Conway Drive in the heart of Chastain Park, this spacious 2006 brick traditional encompasses an impressive 8,057 square feet with six bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Notable spaces include a wine cellar, theater room, a library, and an exercise room. With a saltwater pool and spa plus loggia with fireplace and grill, the backyard will be the premier destination for outdoor entertaining with family and friends. The current asking price is $2.1 million.

Next, sitting on a gated, two-acre lot on Paran Valley, this 6,905-square-foot home “reads traditional and welcoming outside; light, open, and airy inside.” Built in 1967 and renovated in 2017, it features a modern kitchen and bathrooms, along with a home theater and swimming pool. Those French doors that open from the family room onto pool deck also do wonders for merging the interior with the great outdoors. The current asking price is $1.95 million.

Over on Hillside Drive, this 1963 home contains a combination of elegant traditional and rustic farmhouse throughout its 5,661 square feet. Architectural and design details include the cathedral ceiling in the family room, limestone and hardwood floors, wood ceiling beams, and detailed crown molding. Given that the lot is about 2.5 acres, it’s a bit surprising there’s no swimming pool, but the back terrace still provides a nice spot for outdoor entertaining. The current asking price is $2.1 million.

Finally, on Twin Springs Road “just blocks from the amphitheater, golf, tennis, and NYO” (that’s Northside Youth Organization), this new seven-bedroom, eight-bath home designed by Garrett Daniel Architecture of Atlanta could suit potential buyers looking to “enjoy the Chastain life.” Subway tile, lots of shiplap, beamed ceilings, built-ins, and recessed lighting reign from one end to the other of the 7,252-square-foot dwelling. However, it has yet to attract a buyer even with three price cuts since it was first listed in September 2017 for $2.39 million. The current asking price is $1.98 million.
