New, 27 comments

Choices abound, offering both coveted locations and spacious dwellings

For this installment of Curbed Comparisons, we examine what $600,000—give or take $1,000—will purchase in and around Atlanta at the moment.

This price point seems to be ideal for those searching for spacious, yet not overly large, homes in highly coveted neighborhoods from North Buckhead to Summerhill. In addition, there’s a wide range of options that includes everything from new construction to updated classics.

This new Summerhill dwelling in the modern-farmhouse vein on Connally Street overflows with an “emphasis on the modern.” That translates to quite a bit of modern-day trends like shiplap, a farmhouse sink, patterned tile work, and glass-fronted cabinets. Along with four bedrooms and four bathrooms, a separate office and dining area accompany the open floorplan that encompasses much of the 2,387-square-foot home. The current asking price is $600,000.

Located in The Borghese on Northside Parkway in West Paces Ferry/Northside, this 2,223-square-foot condo contains “the most square footage at this price point for one-level living in the city.” Inside that space, it also has two bedrooms and three bathrooms, plus two balconies. For hefty HOA fees of $1,920 per month, potential homeowners will also enjoy two assigned, covered parking spaces, a 24/7 concierge, and access to guest suites. Current ask is $600,000.

Situated “right on top” of East Atlanta Village on Flat Shoals Avenue, this 1,609-square-foot home comes with three bedrooms and three bathrooms plus “loads of space for all of your toys.” The 1920 dwelling also has a three-car garage out back, complete with decorative graffiti. According to the listing, it also has potential as a commercial property with a zoning change to NC2. Currently, the asking price is $600,000.

Found in a gated community on Roswell Road in South Tuxedo Park, this three-bedroom, four-bathroom townhome encompasses two floors complete with an elevator in 2,348 square feet. Design details include beamed and tray ceilings, built-in shelves, and hardwood floors. The 2008 unit also has a deck and a two-car garage. The listing states monthly HOA fees are a relatively modest $272 and include a swimming pool. The asking price is $599,000.

Within walking distance of Peachtree Hills Park on Terrace Drive in Peachtree Hills, this 1925 bungalow includes two bedrooms and two bathrooms in 1,489 square feet. It also has been updated with all new systems and a freshly painted interior and exterior, plus a renovated kitchen and bar and “newer” roof. A screened porch overlooks the grill area, which leads up to the private backyard. Current asking price is $599,000.
