This updated four-bedroom in Buckhead lords over “the best flat backyard in the area”

That unicorn perk of Atlanta home real estate, the flat backyard, is captured at this 1940 Colonial-style property that overlooks Buckhead’s Chastain Park.

Or, well, kind of.

The deep corner lot facing Chastain’s golf course—and the multi-use trail encircling it—is gently sloped, but a parking pad large enough to double as a basketball court provides the levelness. Thus the listing’s description that the large, wraparound back deck “looks out onto the best flat backyard in the area.” (And one totally awesome play set).

Beyond the yard, the four-bedroom, four-bathroom property was recently renovated in a way described as tasteful.

In contrast to the traditional shell, it’s modernized inside without being jarringly modern. Think: white cabinetry, Viking appliances, sleek vanities, and mirrors rimmed in metallic finishes.

Updates are quickly apparent in this sitting room off the entry with a wood-burning fireplace.

The home listed last week at $1,275,000 with Ansley Atlanta Real Estate. With 3,170 square feet, that’d be a breakdown north of $400 per square foot, should it fetch asking.

Other attractions include the double dose of living spaces with fireplaces, a cozy den, bonus attic playroom, and fire pit. The property lacks a garage, but that backyard pad is certainly ample for al fresco parking.

Records indicate the home has sold three times in the past few years, most recently for $1,140,000 in summer 2018.
