“Rare” newer construction boasts of natural light, great storage, and energy-efficient features

With three bedrooms and two bathrooms in 1,972 square feet, this 2011 bungalow in Ormewood Park presents a pretty picture, starting with the landscaped front yard and charming front porch.

Inside, a wealth of windows floods the interior with natural light, highlighting the hardwood floors, custom kitchen cabinets, and crown molding. And, surprisingly, that stacked stone fireplace foregoes gas logs in favor of wood.

With not one, but two, ceiling fans in the kitchen, one can’t help but wonder just how hot it gets when cooking.

Touted as “great for a nursery,” the “smaller” third bedroom actually looks like an enclosed porch or sunroom, even with the built-in shelves.

Behind the house, the fenced backyard also is landscaped, with a covered patio that makes a decent outdoor living room. Although there’s no garage, there is plenty of off-street parking in the driveway both before and beyond that fence.

The property last sold in 2017 for $484,000, so the current ask of $500,000 would represent at least some appreciation for two years.

It’s also on par with available comps in sought-after Ormewood Park, proving again that a half-million dollars doesn’t stretch as far as it used to on the eastside.
