Buckhead’s proposed Dream Hotel won’t just be another swanky place for visitors to rest their heads, project leaders say.

The 2.5-acre venture, sited on Roswell Road near the East Andrews Drive intersection, is expected to bring 45 private residences, five restaurants and nightlife concepts, and 80,000 square feet of office and retail space.

And that’s on top of the 200 hotel rooms, rooftop pool deck, and 17,000-square-foot lounge.

The project was first unveiled about a year ago, and plans were recently filed with the City of Atlanta to move construction forward, officials announced this week.

The mixed-use development, spearheaded by New York City-based Dream Hotel Group, alongside local developer Cartel Properties, is expected to feature two 12-story towers grounded by the restaurants and retail offerings.

Atlanta-based Cooper Carry is charged with crafting the exterior design, and Meyer Davis is doing interiors.

Construction could begin as soon as January, Cartel Properties told the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

Today, the project site houses a boutique shopping center that includes The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill and the neighboring Rock N’ Taco.

What could become of those and other existing businesses hasn’t been specified.

The developers’ goal is to deliver the hotel in 2021.
