What $550K buys around Atlanta right now

New, 57 comments

Though properties are prevalent north and east of the city’s core, they don’t seem to move quickly

For this installment of Curbed Comparisons, we examine what $550,000—give or take $5,000—buys around Atlanta right now.

With a selection of single-family homes, condos, and townhomes spread across the city’s north and east sides, potential buyers will find good variety at this price point. In addition to having desirable locations, these properties are spacious. Surprisingly, though, many seem to be lingering on the market right now.

Located in Old Fourth Ward, this three-bedroom, two-bath home not only is the most recent listing (just four days), but also the smallest at 1,224 square feet. The welcoming front porch gives way to an open floorplan that spans the length of the 2004 house. Out back, a large deck is ready to entertain family and friends. The current asking price is $545,000.

With three bedrooms and three bathrooms, this 2015 Pine Hills townhome contains 2,028 square feet in two floors plus a three-car garage. An open floorplan reigns on the second floor with hardwood floors, built-ins, and a chef’s kitchen with custom cabinets. A fenced backyard with a small deck provides a spot to relax outdoors. On the market for nearly a month, the current ask is $545,000.

Following a recent renovation, this 1945 Peachtree Hills bungalow includes four bedrooms and two bathrooms in 1,926 square feet. As part of the renovation, the home now features an updated kitchen, renovated bathrooms, new windows, new lighting, and an updated fireplace. The backyard also showcases a three-level deck that could easily become an epic outdoor entertaining destination. Current ask is $555,000.

Located at Harper on Piedmont, this 1,402-square-foot condominium has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Following a recent conversion from apartments to condos, the 2009 unit is outfitted with an open floorplan that includes updated lighting, a wraparound fireplace, and those popular design accents: shiplap and subway tile. Building amenities include two assigned parking spaces, a swimming pool, and a fitness center. The current asking price is $549,000.

With two bedrooms and two bathrooms in 1,573 square feet, this 1940 Collier Hills bungalow is minutes from Tanyard Creek Park and the Beltline’s Northside Trail. No open floorplan in this “sunny brick home”; instead there’s a den, dining room, and sunroom in addition to the living room and kitchen. Out back, a patio overlooks a large fenced-in yard. Originally listed in April for $585,000, the price has been cut twice, and now sits at $550,000.
