Befitting the Ramblin’ Raft Race era it came from, this 1978 dwelling in Buckhead’s Brandon neighborhood has been modernized with partying in mind.

There’s no conversation pit or communal bathtub, but beneath towering trees in the backyard is a kitchen, dining area, a massive deck, hot tub, outdoor theater, freshwater pool, what appears to be a putting green, and enough seating for half the neighborhood.

Listed in recent days at $1.37 million with Ansley Atlanta Real Estate, it doesn’t exactly beckon recluses.

Spanning 4,364 square feet, the stucco-clad home is tucked away on woodsy Nawench Drive, just off Interstate 75 northwest of Midtown.

Per the listing, it was recently renovated, to include a kitchen that makes a visual splash and two rooms currently being used for exercise purposes (at the expense of a garage).

Inside are four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two half-baths, but the two-story great room—with its architectural pillar and huge windows—could be the most compelling.

The style won’t be everyone’s cup o’ tea, of course. But for the money, this deal buys entree into the Brandon school district and loads of space that’s anything but humdrum.
