In face of coronavirus restrictions, Serenbe clings to some sense of normalcy

The agrarian-chic community continues to offer a range of homes for sale, including this $959K modern farmhouse

With its rural setting 35 minutes southwest of the city, Serenbe is obliging current social distancing and operating restrictions to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, like so many denser Atlanta ventures.

The wellness and upscale living community is of course following state, county, and CDC guidelines, including a suspension of all upcoming events and take-out and delivery service protocol at all restaurants.

The Inn also remains in business, offering “extended stays in a safe environment with access to fresh air and farm-fresh food to go or delivered to your room,” as marketers put it. (Sample deal: A two-week stay for $1,400).

Meanwhile, Serenbe’s real estate game remains active as ever, officials report.

One example is this new modern farmhouse in the community’s Mado Hamlet, or neighborhood.

With four bedrooms and five bathrooms in 3,078 square feet, the three-story home offers a mix of rustic touches and current trends. Those range from the custom tile fireplace and walk-in kitchen pantry to the abundance of subway tile and shiplap.

Farmhouse accents include the custom stained hardwood floors, wood ceiling beams, the wood-covered range hood, and, of course, the barn doors.

On the bottom, or terrace, floor, find a two-car garage that includes a “bonus golf cart garage” complete with an “adorably small garage door.”

The living room includes a custom tile fireplace.

Alongside the garage is what the listing calls a “foyer,” but given that it measures 400 square feet, it easily could double as a den, rec room, or office, especially since it contains floor-to-ceiling, built-in storage.

Plus, there’s another 580 square feet of unfinished space that could be turned into an in-law suite or home gym.

Those looking for yards, though, won’t find much here, although there is a small covered front porch and a 250-square-foot balcony off the living room overlooking the woods of Mado.

Listed with Serenbe Real Estate, the current asking price is $959,000. In addition to the house, that also garners access to the community’s sports facilities, swim club, dog park, restaurants, cultural offerings, and more.
