North Decatur’s latest installment of townhomes is expected to claim a former driving range and batting cage facility, Grand Slam, with prices beginning in the low $400,000s, developers announced this week.

Called Dumont Place, the large gated community of 72 units by national builder Ashton Woods is planned along North Druid Hills Road near Clairmont Road, closer to Interstate 85 than the Decatur Square.

Officials point to three-mile proximity to Emory University, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the new Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta campus as selling points.

Natural attractions nearby include the South Peachtree Creek Trail and Clyde Shepherd Nature Preserve, and the project will incorporate three acres of its own green space with walking trails, developers noted in a press release.

No construction timeline was provided, but sales have now launched.

All units are three stories with three bedrooms and two-car garages. Price differences pertain to size.

The smallest plan specified online (2,240 square feet), called the Dresden, begins at $417,900.

On the flip side, the Bremen (among the largest listed so far at 3,270 square feet) starts at $484,900.

Expect 10 floorplan options overall—and a communal pool with cabanas.

Homebuyers have the option to customize everything from flooring to light fixtures, officials noted, but they have to drive to a design studio at Alpharetta’s Avalon to do so.
