Behind Phipps Plaza, not far from the planned Nobu Hotel, work is wrapping up on a new high-rise apartment project fronting Phipps Boulevard.
More than 260 apartments, ranging widely from 850 square feet to a whopping 3,000 square feet or more, will be delivered this summer as part of the 1000 Park Avenue project, per developer Wood Partners.
The 27-story tower, designed by Reese Vanderbilt & Associates, has been under construction since summer 2016.
Now, the curving structure—intended to coexist with the nearby 39-story Park Avenue condominiums—has topped out as work progresses to finish the exterior.
Once complete, the project will feature a residential sky lounge on the top floor, including a covered outdoor terrace overlooking the skyline.
The development will also feature a spa-like pool and large outdoor seating area surrounding a fire pit.
According to Gilbane, the contractor building the project, the residential tower sits above a three-story parking deck. In total, the building encompasses more than 400,000 square feet.
