Having moved Down Under, the formerly local scribe is still optimistic for his changing hometown.
Atlanta is home to many distinctive, sky-scraping landmarks that other cities envy. Here’s a map of the 10 tallest towers by height above ground.
Modera Midtown, a 29-story amenity-laden apartment building on 8th Street, is four months away from the delivery of its first units; according to a press release, leasing is now available for select floorplans in the low-rise portion of the building.
Since 1971, a nondescript black office building has sat at the corner of West Peachtree and 8th streets. As the neighborhood around it has changed — with the construction of Midtown MARTA station to the recent completion of Alta Midtown — it’s been living on borrowed time.
When SunTrust Park opens for Braves baseball in the spring, hundreds of Bravos fans could roll out of bed, walk down the street, and be in the stadium. More than 500 apartments are ready at The Battery, offering options.
Another high-rise apartment tower could soon be getting underway in Midtown, with the clearing of land at the corner of 8th and West Peachtree streets. The 22-story building will bring more than 350 apartments to the already booming neighborhood.
Thank you, Atlantans, for caring about the city. Great things are in store here.
