It's October, which means it's apple-picking season here in Georgia. Whether you like hitting the field to pick them yourself, or prefer just buying a (few) dozen apple cinnamon doughnuts and cider for the drive home, there's fun to be had — and food to be eaten. While Ellijay may be home to the majority of orchards, apple-picking attractions can be found across North Georgia. Offering a wide array of things to do beyond apple-related elation, the orchards are a one-stop shop for enjoying autumn. So have a gander at the trusty guide to find 12 of the best farms to visit.

B.J. Reece's Apple House

With a wide array of apple varieties, B.J. Reece's offers the chance to pick your own apples in their orchard, through November 1. For those who want some fauna with their flora, there's a petting zoo and other activities.
