Funding has been announced for the trail, planned to stretch seven miles and encompass some 450 acres of greenspace. Eventually, the pedestrian and bike path will connect to the Beltline, providing Atlantans access to the river.
Testing began this week for a tunneling project that will transform the Beltline-connected Bellwood Quarry into a deep, 30-day water source for the city. The current backup water supply is just three days.
